Why kindness is so hard.
Everyone believes in kindness. Almost no one gets to it.
Not because people are bad. Because kindness asks something of you now and pays you back later, if it ever does, in ways you rarely see. So when life gets heavy, the world shrinks to the size of your own problems. The person who needed you becomes someone you’ll help later. Later never comes.
And the kindness that does happen is quiet. A meal handed over. A box carried up the stairs. No audience, no credit, no proof it mattered. Just one person choosing another for a moment.
We built Dreams of Kindness so that moment isn’t left to chance. If the world makes kindness hard, then someone has to make it deliberate: fund it, organize it, and carry it all the way to the door. That’s the whole job. We take the care that’s already in people and give it somewhere to go.
We’re not here to replace kindness. We’re here to make sure it arrives.
How we keep kindness moving.
We're a nonprofit, but we run like a system. Three things make it work.
01
Structured programs
Every initiative has a defined ask, a defined cost, and a defined outcome. Hot meals at $5. Recovered goods at $50/shipment. No vague good-doing.
02
Rescue, not waste
Surplus stock, returns, and unclaimed goods bound for the landfill get rescued and routed straight to families, shelters, and nonprofits.
03
Partner network
Restaurants, warehouses, retailers, creators. Kindness moves like a relay, not a solo act, so we run the handoffs that keep goods moving.
Where your kindness goes.
