How our events work
Dreams of Kindness is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Orange County, California, EIN 99-4350357. Our events are the in-person side of the programs: the days the meals actually get handed over and the goods actually get moved.
There are three kinds. At a meal distribution, volunteers hand warm meals directly to neighbors who need one. At a goods drive, we collect and sort surplus items that partner businesses have set aside. At a community gathering, we bring volunteers, partners, and neighbors together in one place to meet each other.
Attending costs nothing and no experience is needed. Every event lists its date, its start and end time, and its address, so you know exactly where to go and how long to plan for. Bring water and comfortable shoes; we provide everything else, including the briefing when you arrive.
Volunteers sign up through Kindness Counts, our volunteer platform, which records your hours so you have a verified record for a school, an employer, or a court requirement. If you would rather just show up, you are welcome to.
